Private Equity's Tax Problem

The recent attack on Blackstone by two senators is reasonable in the sense that just becuase it is a group of partnerships, doesn't mean it should be taxed at a lower rate than corporations. Although, recently Congress has been focusing on America's competitiveness in financial markets against the other major world markets, and this wouldn't help our competitiveness at all. After the ipo of Blackstone, which is suppose to take place next week, there was suppose to be a surge in ipos from private equity firms and hedge funds. This surge will obviously not take place and help our financial markets. Also, something needs to be done to encourage companies to be listed in America, but this tax is just a long needed tax reform that was waiting to be looked at and solved.
